If My People who are called by my name HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY and SEEK my Face and TURN from their wicked ways, then I will HEAR from Heaven and will forgive their sin and HEAL their land.

The Rope of Prayer
Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications...Daniel 9:3A
C.H. Spurgeon once said, "Prayer pulls the rope down below and the great bell rings above in the ears of God. Some scarcely stir the bell, for they pray so languidly; others give only an occasional jerk at the rope. But he who communicates with heaven is the man who grasps the rope boldly and pulls continuously with all his might."
Daniel was a man who communicated with heaven. He prayed fervently, consistently, and for the will of God. He knew nothing of praying only before meals, at bedtime, and when he really needed God's help. On the contrary, day in and day out, and often multiple times a day, this man came before God to discover His will and obey Him in everything (Daniel 6:10).
What is the status of your prayer life? Are you scarcely stirring the bell or ringing it loudly? If you desire to actively communicate with heaven and see your prayer life come alive, study Daniel's example, set your face toward God every day, and pull the rope of prayer continuously with all your might.
When we learn His purposes and make them our prayer we are giving Him the opportunity to act. S. D. GORDON
The heart always provides for what it values (Matthew 6:19–34), and if we value God first, our capacity to love him and others will expand. If we value the world first, we will miss out on not only the joys of knowing God but also the joys of this life. Relationships will degenerate into contacts, and we will seek to manipulate people to get what we think we want. We will be driven to accomplish and impress, and this will detract from quality time with those we love. Activities will take precedence over intimacy, both with God and with people. The idol of accomplishment will erode the aesthetics of the spirit and leave us busy and weary. We will work harder to influence people, and by seeking our security in their responses, we will become disconnected from our true security in Christ. The only way off this treadmill is repentance and return to the pursuit of Christ in place of the pursuit of the world — possessions, power, performance, or prestige.
